Food from Britain (FFB) is preparing to showcase the very best of British regional speciality food and drink at Hotelympia 2006 from 19th – 23rd February. After months of preparation and a nationwide search for the country’s finest regional speciality produce, the exhibit is set to take centre stage with one of the largest pavilions, displaying 12 British producers.
Visitors to the pavilion will be impressed not only by the superior quality and rich diversity of food and drink, but also the scale of its presence. The pavilion will feature producers from all corners of the British Isles, who will be showcasing their food and drink to visitors. The producers at the pavilion include Belvoir Fruit Farms, creators of a delicious range of fruit cordials, Tyrrells Potato Chips, producers of hand fried potato chips in a distinctive range of flavours as well as hand-fried fruit and root vegetable chips, Look What We’ve Found, who make a range of cooking sauces and quality ready meal sachets, and many more.
FFB will also be encouraging chefs and catering buyers to find out more about its range of services, providing a perfect platform for visitors to meet FFB’s expert team and discuss the merits of regional sourcing.
Charlotte Lawson, director of UK and business services, said: “Earlier this year, FFB were given an additional £2 million by Defra in support of a campaign to promote the UK’s regional food and drink industry over the next two years, to both consumer and trade audiences. Through our presence at Hotelympia 2006 we hope to raise awareness of the fantastic range and quality of British food and drink amongst chefs and catering buyers, and encourage regional sourcing in the foodservice industry.”
