Food from Britain (FFB), the market development consultancy for British food and drink, has helped more than 100 cheese producers showcase over 1,000 different cheeses by sponsoring this year’s Great British Cheese Festival. This is the third year running FFB has supported the festival, which last year saw 8,000 food lovers and 600 trade buyers visit to taste and buy the very best in British cheese.
FFB has once again staged the Food from Britain Market, an Aladdin’s Cave for food lovers, where some 30 producers from around the country display an assortment of culinary accompaniments to the cheeses at the festival. FFB also sponsors the Best Cheese for Export award at the prestigious British Cheese Awards, which are held at the festival.
Jane Wakeling, regional food and drink manager for Food from Britain, said: “The Great British Cheese Festival provides an invaluable opportunity for producers to demonstrate the taste, quality and variety of food and drink in Britain to both consumers and trade buyers from all over the world. We are delighted to be able to help increase awareness of the UK’s regional food and drink offering by supporting the awards and festival as part of our Defra funded initiative.”
