Britvic International Ltd. is the subsidiary company of Britvic Soft Drinks plc, a company with long heritage dating back to 1784 when HD Rawlings began supplying mineral waters to the royal houses of Europe.
Later in the mid 19th century, The British Vitamin Products Company was formed. This chemist based in Chelmsford, UK produced flavoured mineral waters, and in 1938 began experimenting with a range of fruit juice products containing vitamin C, which was welcomed after World War 2 when there was a shortage of fresh fruit and fruit juices.
Britvic is now one of the two leading soft drinks businesses in Great Britain. Successful new product developments, such as J2O and Fruit Shoot, have helped Britvic become the largest supplier of branded still soft drinks, the fastest growing category in the soft drinks market, while remaining the number two supplier of branded carbonates.
